To listen to the conspiracy buffs talk, the gathering of the Bilderbergers is the ultimate gabfest for the global elites. According to them, it is at these meetings that the globalists gather to hatch their plans for running the world. This year, the meeting was held in Chantilly Virginia about 20 miles from the CIA headquarters so tongues were really wagging. And to top it all off, for the first time ever, the Bilderbergers themselves leaked the list of invited guests.
If this is someone's idea of a global elite and they really are running the world, we are truly doomed. I have taken the trouble to google the USA attendees (of course, many of them are widely known.) What I have discovered is that with rare exceptions, these folks are a LONG way from ANY reasonable definition of an elite. (For the full list of attendees, click here)
For example, Fouad Ajami, a man who regularly embarrasses himself on TV as a political expert, was invited. The ONLY reason I could discover for his invite is that he is an "Arab" (Lebanese) who supported the invasion of Iraq. For giving aid and comfort to the neocons, he has been elevated to elite status. And then there is Peggy Noonan, a woman who is usually wrong about nearly everything, designated as an elite because as one of Ronald Reagan's speechwriters, she made him sound less senile that he really was. I suppose Charlie Rose was invited for his services in dumbing down those who watch PBS. John Kerry, the most unoriginal politician EVAH, was probably invited for throwing his chance to be President. Why Dickie Gephart was invited is literally beyond comprehension.
And how about that old war criminal Henry Kissinger? Yes he has caused a world of trouble and somehow keeps getting the ear of the filthy rich but does that really make him one of the world's elites? I would imagine that the real elites are those who pay his bills. And then there are those billionaire banksters who are in reality the world's biggest welfare queens running financial institutions that only exist because of taxpayer bailouts.
I could go on but what's the point? Outside of the token Producers like Eric Schmidt of Google, none of the attendees has done anything brilliant, creative, or uplifting with their intellectual gifts. And only Alexander Karsner has done anything that would remotely address the problem of the end of the Age of Petroleum (and he was offset by an invite of Daniel Yergin, a notorious Peak Oil denier.)
There is not one serious problem facing humanity, from climate change to the collapse of the Euro, from overfishing the oceans to over-pumping the aquifers, from Peak Oil to overpopulation, that these Bilderbergers are qualified to address. If their meeting had been hit by a drone, no one would seriously argue that humanity's ability to govern itself had been diminished in any way. Quite the contrary.
In reality, the Bilderbergers constitute a sort of anti-elite—who probably believe that that real problems facing the planet are not going to affect them. They are WRONG! Whatever policies they decide on are probably the very last options the human race should pursue. And if we cannot find a way to arrest and convict these people for their crimes against humanity, the very least the rest of us can do is ignore their crazy ideas.

Occupy Bilderberg faces off with secretive gathering
01 June, 2012
Around 150 of the world’s elite approached the grounds of a suburban Virginia hotel on Thursday for the first day of the 2012 Bilderberg Conference, but also on hand were throngs of protesters who gathered to opposed the top-secret gathering.
Journalists and critics of the annual clandestine conference stationed themselves outside of a Chantilly, Virginia Marriott hotel near Washington, DC early Thursday to catch a glimpse of the government officials, entrepreneurs and other assorted members of the privileged elite who had gathered for this year’s event.
In year’s past, it is rumored that leaders of the United States and Britain were agreed on by global figureheads behind closed doors during the Bilderberg Conference; this week in Virginia, speculators have introduced the notion that international big-wigs will be brought with questions surrounding both who to back during the 2012 US presidential election and who will be picked to run alongside GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
“Policy is being set there and this is one of the most elite meetings out there,” radio host Alex Jones told RT weeks before the event. On Thursday, Jones and his media crew were in Chantilly, VA to expose this year’s attendees.
Before the event went underway, the only person confirmed to accept an invitation to the 2012 conference was Canadian politician Alison Redford, although frequent guests Henry A. Kissinger and David Rockefeller were all but certain to stop by the Westfield Marriott hotel, although last year’s roster included names such as Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Greek Minister of Finance George Papaconstantinou. In a peculiar change of police, however, the Bilderberg Group formally released a roster of their own invited members days before this week’s event. Whether or not people liked such as Citigroup Vice Chairman Peter Orszag or Finish Minister of Finance Jutta Urpilainen will actually show is a matter that only those at the behind-closed-doors event can confirm, but the action of actually releasing a list of attendees-real or not — suggests that opponents of the secret society have finally made their unrest heard to the point that organizers decided to attempt for at least some transparency.
Asked to be in attendance this year, according to a memo released by the Bilderberg Group, were many of the usual names as well as Sen. Marco Rubio, whose name has been floated as a possible nominee for Mitt Romney’s running mate.
Those without an invite weren’t so lucky, though — Jones revealed only two days before the event began that his reservation at the hotel had been revoked and that anyone not directly affiliated with the conference that planned to stay at the Marriott had their accommodations transferred to a separate facility. Thanks in part to exposing the conference, however, journalists such as Jones made it possible for a longstanding media blackout of Bilderberg to finally be removed in 2012. Speaking to RT earlier in the year, Jones appealed to viewers to stage an “Occupy Bilderberg” protest outside the hotel’s grounds and the subsequent media coverage that followed allowed for mainstream outlets to cover the event with an attention unmatched in years before.

Bilderberg 2012: real men don't like oligarchs
The Guardian
[snip]
I had breakfast this morning with three other veterans – retired Navy men – who have taken a road trip up from Florida to be here at Bilderberg…Brothers in arms: Wayne, Rick and Bob.
Dr Rick Davis is about the calmest person I've ever met. A former Flight Surgeon, he spent 9 years in the military, can fly an F16 and carried out missions with the Navy Seals. I ask him why he's come here. He takes his iPhone and shows me a quote from the anthropologist Margaret Mead: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Rick and his fellow veterans, Wayne Fritzsche and Bob Romanko, are about as far from whatever lazy caricature of 'Bilderberg activist' might exist in the mind of an idiot. Wayne is the chairman of a publicly traded pharmaceuticals company. "I understand what having a full diary means – and let me tell you, the people who go to Bilderberg aren't going to block off three or four days just to have a 'chat'. They wouldn't give three or four days to a state visit. A couple of hours, dinner and you're done. Bilderberg is a co-ordinated effort on a huge scale".
But an effort to do what? Rick answers.
"At Bilderberg are the apex predators of the world crime syndicate. Now, I'm a physician. These people display all the classic symptoms of psychopathy. They exhibit an obsessive compulsion towards the exercise of power. These are extremely ill people, they have a culture of negativism and death. And I'm here to stop their agenda. It's the agenda that's killing us."
The risk is that great? Rick nods matter-of-factly. "I'm a trauma physician – which is all about assessing risk. I have a considerable knowledge of nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. I'm CEO of a company, and in business you're always asking: where is my nearest risk? Risk assessment is my job. And right now, we're at risk from the biggest threat to humanity there's ever been."
These men feel a moral imperative to stand up and square off against the threat. As Bob says: "I simply cannot do nothing." A former Navy historian, Bob worked in sports radio and has the voice to match. His growls his frustration at the fact that his son, a journalist, can't get his head round the seriousness of the crisis. "He's married a doctor, he's lives in a fabulous city, he's living the American dream. He just doesn't see that the American dream is heading off a cliff." more
